This Instant Pot Pear Applesauce is a super easy autumn treat! If you love a homemade applesauce recipe but also love recipes with pears, this instant pot pear sauce is for you! Including tips on how long to pressure cook pears for the best results!
½teaspoon(1g)apple pie spice - or pumpkin pie spice, or just cinnamon
1teaspoon(5ml)vanilla
2tablespoon(30ml)water
2tablespoon(30ml)lemon juice
Instructions
Place all ingredients in instant pot and secure lid.
6 pears, 4 apples, ½ teaspoon apple pie spice, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 tablespoon water, 2 tablespoon lemon juice
Set to cook at high pressure for 4 minutes.
When timer beeps, leave the venting knob at the "sealing" setting and allow pressure to release naturally. When the pressurevalve drops, carefully remove the lid.
Use an immersion blender (hand blender) or potato masher to mash apples and pears to desired consistency. Allow to cool slightly. Serve pear applesauce warm or refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Slow Cooker Instructions: Combine all your ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on high for 5 hours, or on low for 8 hours, or until pears and apples are very soft. Purée and serve as detailed above.Storage and freezing: This pear applesauce will last in an airtight container in the fridge for about 5 days. You can also freeze it in a freezer-safe airtight container for up to 3 months.
