Pinecone Brownies - The Perfect Holiday Activity!
These brownies are so fun to make! And they're perfect as a weekend or afternoon activity during the holidays, great for kids and the whole family! You can customize them to your preference, adding powdered sugar for a nice snowy look as seen on Tiktok - make these today!
Ingredients
These super easy pine cone brownies only require two main ingredients! Here's what you'll need:

- brownies - you can use a homemade brownie recipe like my Condensed Milk Brownies, or use your favorite boxed brownie mix! And if you love brownies, you've got to try my Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting!
- Chocapic cereal - To make the outer layer of this pinecone brownie recipe, I used Chocapic cereal. You can also use any chocolate flake cereal like Premier Protein. You can also make these pinecone brownies with almonds -- see below!
- powdered sugar - dusting the finished pinecone brownies with a little powdered sugar (also called icing sugar) gives them a super festive, snowy look just like real pinecones!
See recipe card for quantities.

Equipment
You'll need whatever tools you need to make the brownies, like a 9x13 pan and a balloon whisk. Then, to dust on your powdered sugar topping, I like to use a small fine-mesh sieve.
Instructions
The recipe card below will give you detailed step-by-step instructions for making this cake, as well as full ingredient measurements and a recipe video! But here's a quick look at how you'll make this pinecone brownie recipe!

Prepare brownies according to package directions or recipe instructions, and let it cool slightly. Cut into 12 even bars.

Press each warm brownie into an egg shape and set aside.

Press chocolate cereal pieces about halfway into the sides of each pinecone shape, starting at the bottom and working up.

Dust with powdered sugar, if you like.
Hint: Be careful when pressing in the cereal pieces -- they can easily break!
Pinecone Brownies with Almonds
I love this pinecone brownie recipe, but if you prefer, you can swap out the Chocapic cereal for sliced almonds for a similar effect! The only extra step would be to melt some chocolate candy melts or chocolate chips and pour the melted chocolate over the top of the brownie pine cones and almond slices to make them all uniform in color.
Storage
These easy pinecone brownies are best enjoyed the day they're made, so I wouldn't recommend storing them longer than that. But if you do store them, they can last at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Frequently Asked Questions
Making Pillsbury brownies is a breeze! Mix the box with water, oil, and eggs, bake at 325–350°F, and let them cool (or dig in warm!). For extra flair, swirl in Nutella or sprinkle with sea salt—instant brownie bliss.
A brownie is a rich, dense, and fudgy square of chocolatey heaven that’s somewhere between a cake and a cookie. It's beloved for its chewy edges, gooey center, and irresistible chocolate flavor. Whether fudgy or cakey, brownies are the ultimate comfort dessert!
Brownies come in three types: fudgy (rich and gooey), cakey (light and fluffy), and chewy (dense with a soft bite). Each one’s delicious in its own way, but for these easy pinecone brownies a chewy or fudgy brownie works best! That way, you won't have any issues getting the brownies into the cone shape.
Top Tip
Press the cereal pieces in close together for that realistic pinecone effect! Happy baking!

If the cereal is not available where you live, use the Chocolate Goldfish Crackers that is available in the stores. The tail of the Goldfish goes into the brownie body and the flat side is facing brownie body. The curved side is what you see. If needed, you can use Chocolate Frosting to attach the tail of the fish. ** This way is easier than melting Chocolate and cheaper than buying Almonds. ** I've seen grinding up Oreo Cookies used in other recipes. You recipe is the Best. !! Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas. **
